KURŞUNLU ŞELALESİ TABİAT PARKI, ANTALYA

KursunluThis surprisingly delightful small nature park makes a great escape from the sometimes oppressive heat of Antalya in the high season. Once you get past the inevitable cafes and souvenir stalls just inside the gates it is quiet and hassle-free, the tree cover occasionally parting to reveal small pools of water connected to each other by a series of small waterfalls. Wooden bridges and boardwalks blend in pleasingly although some of the cobbled paths are dangerously slippery.

There are a few specific things to see in the park including an old watermill and a house associated with the ex-president Kenan Evren but mainly you come here to relax and perhaps do a spot of bird-watching. There's a large and shady picnic area as well.

Transport info

Many tours from Antalya to Perge, Aspendos and Side also take in the park and although it makes a nice contrast with all the ruins, the 45 minutes allowed is barely enough to make a complete circuit of it. Better to come alone and allow at least a couple of hours to stroll around at a leisurely pace.
