ALMATUR HOTEL, YUSUFELİ
Right beside the Çoruh river whose waters provide a pleasing background chorus, this new three-star Yusufeli hotel is smart and modern with a cheery lounge-bar split up so some people can watch TV while others nurse their laptops.
The rooms favour a cream and beige colour scheme and have all mod cons: TV, air-con unit, fridge etc. Bathrooms are a tad small but fully equipped.
Breakfast is taken in an attractive top-floor restaurant which also does evening meals, a plus in a town that is low on decent places to dine.
Thumbs up: Comfortable modern facilities in a town that used to be quite low on them
Thumbs down: I could have done without the prolific apples decorating the facade
