In the undervisited Cappadocian village of İbrahimpaşa the Babayan Evi is a small hotel in a quiet location overlooking a wonderful unspoilt valley - some rooms have balconies looking straight onto the view.
A few rooms, including the charming breakfast room, have been created inside the stone-arched rooms of what was once somebody's house. Others, however, are inside the caves, making for that extra bit of true Cappadocian character. Most have windows so there is no need for anxiety about claustrophia.
Unusually, this is a hotel that plays up its Greek history (its name in Greek is "Angel House"), with signs, maps etc in Greek in the breakfast room. Babayan was the old Greek name for the village.
Thumbs up: Peaceful location, lovely views, attractively decorated rooms
Thumbs down: Lack of public transport makes this a better option for those with cars
