baris1Just across the road from the beach and close to the dolmuş stand at Çıralı, a shop and a tour agency, the Barış (Peace) Pansiyon is set around a large lawn where chickens forage for scraps beneath a multitude of trees and bushes, a fairly idyllic sitting. Rooms are in discreet two-storey blocks and are lined with wood for that Swedish-sauna look that works so well here. Expect no flashy gadgets though; although the wi-fi is good, there are no TVs, nor yet any hair-driers in the bathroom. There is air-con though and you'll be glad of it in summer.

What you get here is true peace and quiet (provided you discount the roosters and owls). My room was spacious and the bed comfortable, although unfortunately the bathroom smelt badly. The verandah came with pegs for hanging out washing.

Breakfasts are served in a dining room that could do with a bit of cheering up, although it does have two köşk sitting areas. The food itself was also disappointing - served from institutional metal trays with no kaşar cheese or honey, both of them usually staples of a Turkish breakfast. baris2

Thumbs up: Great location if you don't have a car. Comfortable rooms. Peace and quiet.

Thumbs down: Smelly bathrooms. Very disappointing breakfast.
