FulyapenUntil recently Eğirdir's places to stay were low on truly inviting interior decoration. No more. The Fulya Pension may not look especially exciting on the outside but its eight individually decorated bedrooms are absolutely delightful, bringing boutique standards of style to the mainland accommodation scene.

My room came with a lovely fern green and brown colour scheme that was entirely in keeping with the town's basically rural setting. A particularly nice touch was the bare stone wall that served as a headboard. Curtains and bed coverings were lavish and attractive, the double bed extremely comfort. The spacious room had space for a child's bed as well as a window seat, and windows on two sides looking out towards the lake. The bathroom too was of above average size although comparatively simple in its design.

Despite the hotel standard of the rooms, the Fulya continues to be counted as a pension because there are no staff on site; they can be found just minutes' away at Charly's Pension which is where breakfast is also taken until such time as a new roof terrace can be added to the Fulya building. Dinners are also available at Charly's.

Thumbs up: Delightful decor, fine views

Thumbs down: Excellent breakfast - but down the road for a little while longer
