Karabük is one of those nothingy towns that many people pass through but few pause to examine. That’s because it is the transit point from intercity buses to local transport on to Safranbolu while being, at the same time, a large steel-manufacturing centre.

There are intercity bus services from Ankara and Bartin to Karabük.
The train line from the coal-mining town of Zongulduk on the Black Sea to Ankara also passes through Karabük.
