In the shadow of Mt Boz Population: 1,250
The small mountain village of Bozdağ is not particularly pretty since its remaining old stone houses are struggling to hold their own against an encroaching tide of concrete. Still, the air up here is wonderfully clear and when the sun shines on the snowclad summit of Bozdağ (2,420m) immediately above it none of that will matter. In spring the streets burst out in white blossom, a wonderful sight.
There’s a small ski centre here with a couple of places to stay should you want to try it out.
A statue commemorates local hero, Poslu Mehmet Efe (1892-1920).
