“Sculpture spring” Population: 1,500
Some 20km north of Manavgat on the Mediterranean coast the area around the Oymapınar Dam is being developed for tourism. Hotels are being built around the lake and boat tours are now available.

Dolmuşes rum from Manavgat to Oymapınar village and their drivers may be persuaded to run you as far as the dam for a small extra charge. The dam is, however, in the grounds of a power station and although there’s a picnic place and cafe by the so-called Green Lake, it’s really not that exciting.
The only real reason to continue past the very ordinary village would be to see the long stretch of Roman aqueduct that stands uncommented by the entrance. It is the surviving part of a partially-drowned 30km-long structure built to carry water to the nearby settlement at Side in the late 2nd/early 3rd century AD.
