Market: Tuesday

If you don’t have a car and want to explore the Phrygian Valley north of Afyon, it’s worth knowing that there are minibuses to Kayıhan whence it’s possible to walk north to the Göynüş Vadisi or east to Ayazini.

Kayıhan itself is a sleepy place of no great interest although the back streets contain quite a lot of old stone houses with high wooden gates. There’s a market on Tuesdays but it’s small and not worth making a special trip for.

It’s a marginally more appealing place in which to hang about for a bus than İhsaniye and a great deal more appealing than Gazlıgöl.

Transport info

Fairly frequent minibuses for Kayıhan leave from Afyon‘s Köy Garaj although you can pick them up on Atatürk Bulvarı to avoid the shlep out to the remote local terminal.
