It’s worth pausing briefly at this simple agricultural settlement just inland from Çıldır Lake to look at the old mosque which was attached to the remains of a 13th-century Armenian church. Minus its dome and any decorative features, the church makes for fairly grim viewing. You’re unlikely to be able to find the key to look inside.
Mines are scattered in some of the fields close to the Armenian border so don’t wander away from the village.
