Osmanbey is one of those vague places you pass through on your way along Halaskargazi Caddesi or when using the Metro from Taksim. Traffic-blighted and busy, it has several fine 19th-century apartment blocks to its name. Technically the Feriköy Protestant and Catholic cemeteries are in Osmanbey. The Bet Israel Synagogue, the most active in İstanbul, is beside the Catholic cemetery.

Transport info

Osmanbey is one Metro stop away from Taksim Square and accessible, too, by buses from there. It’s a 30-minute walk from the Square, most of it flat and part of it possible through Gezi Park.
